Legends' Brickhouse Named SAL Pitcher of Week; Will Start Tonight's Game

May 13, 2013 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Lexington Legends News Release

(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Lexington Legends' right-hander Bryan Brickhouse has been named South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week for May 6-12, SAL President Eric Krupa announced today (Monday).

Brickhouse made one start last week. He pitched six and two-thirds innings at Lakewood May 6, and allowed two hits and no runs as he picked up his first win of the season in a 2-0 Legends victory. He struck out nine batters and walked two, and lowered his earned run average for the season to 2.41. His overall record is 1-3.

Brickhouse, 20, was a third round draft choice of the Kansas City Royals in June 2011. He pitched in high school in The Woodlands, Texas.

"Bryan was outstanding in his start at Lakewood and is very deserving of this recognition," said Legends General Manager Seth Poteat. "But he has pitched well all season. We're looking forward to seeing him on the mound tonight."

Brickhouse will make the start tonight as the Legends open a three-game series at Whitaker Bank Ballpark against the Kannapolis Intimidators, an affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Game times are 7:05 p.m. tonight and Tuesday, and 10:05 a.m. Wednesday.
