Bridgeport Bluefish News Release
Bridgeport, Conn. - The Bridgeport Bluefish today announced the signing of pitcher Trevor Reckling. Reckling will make his Park City debut during his first season in the Atlantic League and his seventh of professional baseball.
"Trevor will be a nice addition to our starting rotation," says Bluefish manager Willie Upshaw. "We look forward to his contributions to the ballclub."
Reckling last pitched in 2012 with High-A Inland Empire (LAA) where he pitched in four games (two starts). The 24-year-old was a eighth round draft pick of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 2007 Amateur Draft. It took him just three seasons to reach the Triple-A level with Salt Lake. The lefthander recorded his best season in 2009 when he split time between High-A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Arkansas. He went 9-9 with a 2.68 ERA while giving up just 127 hits in 154.1 innings of work. During the course of his minor league career, Reckling owns a 33-38 record with a 4.14 ERA and 481 strikeouts over the course of 110 games (104 starts).
In a corresponding roster move, the Bluefish have sold the contract of pitcher Kelvin Villa to Quintana Roo of the Mexican League.
