Laurikainen Recalled, Tarasuk Dealt to Alaska

The Norfolk Admirals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, have traded defensemen Steve Tarasuk to the Alaska Aces, the team announced on Tuesday.

Tarasuk, 26, played in the team's season opener against Kalamazoo on Friday, however was scratched on Saturday. The Aces will be the 10th different ECHL organization the right-handed defensemen will play for in his career.

Additionally, the Bakersfield Condors recalled goaltender Eetu Laurikainen from the Admirals on Monday. Laurikainen started both games for Norfolk over the weekend but has now met the American Hockey League affiliate in Manitoba for the team's season opener tonight against the Manitoba Moose.

The Admirals are back in action tomorrow night when the team takes on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at Norfolk Scope. Puck drop is set for 7:15 and you can catch all of the action on 102.1 FM The Tide, the official radio station of the Norfolk Admirals, as well as ECHL.TV.
