Central Islip, N.Y. - A two-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning led the Long Island Ducks (30-29) to a 4-2 victory over the Somerset Patriots (36-23) at Bethpage Ballpark Wednesday night.

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning when Marc Krauss' two-run home run to right-center field gave Long Island the first lead of the ballgame.

Somerset evened the score in the top of the eighth on a Greg Golson RBI single and a bases-loaded walk allowed to Christian Marrero. The tied score was short-lived, however, as the Ducks plated two in the bottom of the eighth on RBI singles from Alex Burg and Giovanny Alfonzo to take a 4-2 lead.

"It was a good ballgame," said Somerset Patriots manager Brett Jodie. "I liked how we fought back with some good at-bats in the eighth, but it's always tough to give the lead right back. That's just how it goes sometimes."

Zac Treece (4-1) earned the win after a scoreless third of an inning. Justin Wright (2-1) took the loss, yielding two runs on four hits in one inning. Amalio Diaz (2) earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning. Neither starting pitcher factored into the decision.

Somerset concludes its four-game series against the Long Island Ducks Thursday night in Central Islip. Right-handed pitcher David Kubiak (2-5, 3.59 ERA) takes on Ducks' righty Dennis O'Grady (2-3, 4.32 ERA). First pitch at Bethpage Ballpark is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
