Last Minute Goal Gives Beast Thrilling Win over Rush

Brampton Beast News Release
RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA - Brampton Beast defenseman Jordan Murray picked the best time to score his first ECHL goal.
With time running out in the third period and the game tied at 4-4, Murray gathered the puck in his own end and executed a flawless end-to-end rush and scored the game-winning goal with 19 seconds remaining in the third period to give the Brampton Beast a thrilling 5-4 victory over the Rapid City Rush on Wednesday night in Rapid City.
Luc Olivier Blain led the Beast's offensive attack with a goal and two helpers while Matt Petgrave and Paul Cianfrini each recorded multi-point nights to help the Beast to win back-to-back games for the first time this season.
It didn't look good for the Beast early on as Dante Salituro and Matt Caito scored for the Rush to take a 2-0 lead by the 15:01 mark of the opening frame.
Late in the first period, the Beast got one back. Jordan Henry took a pass from Petgrave and from a tough angle was able to snap home his first of the season with only 1.6 seconds remaining to send the Beast into the first intermission down by a goal.
Henry's goal sparked the Beast to start the second period. Petgrave snapped a quick shot on goal from the slot that hit a defender and just rolled over the goal line, giving Petgrave goals in three straight contests and tying the game at 2-2 at 3:31.
The Beast weren't done there. Nathan Todd carried the puck into the offensive zone and found a streaking Blain in the slot. Blain quickly fired the puck off the post and in for his second of the year, giving the Beast a 3-2 lead at 12:34.
Just 20 seconds later, the Beast struck again. Scott Jacklin was in the right place at the right time to pounce on a rebound in front of Rush starting goaltender Steve Michalek to pot his first of the season, giving the Beast a two-goal lead.
The Beast would carry that lead into the third period but the Rush fought back hard. Kenton Miller scored at 6:04 to cut the Beast lead to 4-3. Late in the period, the Rush got another one back and tied the game thanks to a tally from Ian Brady with 2:03 left in regulation time.
Andrew D'Agostini made his second straight appearance between the pipes for the Beast and made 25 saves to earn the victory.
NOTES: Molson Three Stars: 3) Cianfrini (BRA) 2) Salituro (RCR) 1) Petgrave (BRA). The Beast finished the game 0-for-4 on the man advantage and 5-for-6 on the penalty kill. The Beast failed to record a power play goal for the first time this season. The Beast and the Rush will face off again on Friday, November 3 for the second game of this three-game series.
