Las Vegas Locomotives Sign Quarterback Brian Brohm
LAS VEGAS - The Las Vegas Locomotives (Locos) picked up former star Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm yesterday, making him the fourth quarterback on the Locos roster.
Brohm will bring added depth to the quarterback roster which is currently filled by starting quarterback Chase Clement and backups Zac Lee and Chad Friehauf.
"The master plan was to bring in four quarterbacks originally, and we've done that before," said Head Coach Jim Fassel. "With Brian, a quarterback became available that we liked, so we are going to bring him in and take a look."
Brohm took the last available roster spot on the Locos. The team now has 70 players in training camp competing for 51 spots. Final cuts will be made Thursday, Sept. 8.
Brohm had a standout collegiate career at Louisville from 2004-2008, leading the Cardinals to an Orange Bowl victory in 2007. Following his career at Louisville, he was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Brohm remained with the Packers until he was waived by the team in 2009. The Buffalo Bills picked him up in November of 2009 and Brohm made his first career NFL start in December 2009 against the Atlanta Falcons.
