Larkins Gem Wasted, 'Hogs Win in 10

LINCOLN - Matt Larkins dealt for eight innings but the Texas AirHogs (5-6) came back to beat the Saltdogs (6-5) 3-1 in 10 innings in front of 2,647 fans at Haymarket Park Monday night.

Michael Miller led off the top of the eighth with a home run to left to tie the game at 1-1.

With two on and two out in the top of the 10th, Michael Hur slugged a two-run double to left center.

The Saltdogs got a couple singles from Curt Smith and Luis Alen in the 10th.

Larkins allowed just one run on six hits, walking one and striking out seven for the Saltdogs.

Lincoln scored its run on a Christian Ibarra two-out single in the third after Brandon Jacobs walked and stole second.

Alan Oaks worked a scoreless ninth to earn the win. Carlos Misell allowed two hits in the bottom of the 10th but notched the save.

Game two of the four-game series is Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m. LHP Bennett Parry is expected to face LHP Griffin Russell.
