Laredo Bucks News Release


LAREDO, Texas - The Laredo Bucks went 2-1-0 this past week. On Friday the Bucks beat the visiting Arizona Sundogs 6-2 at the LEC, and then Saturday Laredo fell at home 4-1 to the Youngstown SteelHounds. Sunday the Bucks bounced back with a 4-1 road win against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees as Laredo won for the ninth time in ten games, and 14th time in the last 17. The Bucks are a Southern Conference best 23-9-2 with 48 points and they lead the Southeast Division by nine points. Laredo is on the road in Austin on Friday, then returns home on Saturday against the Wichita Thunder. Face off set for 7:30 p.m. The Bucks are offering season tickets starting at $125 dollars. BUCKS ALL-STARS SHINE

- The Laredo Bucks had a huge impact on the 2007 CHL All-Star Game Wednesday night in Bossier City, LA, as the Northern Conference beat the Southern Conference 9-6. Bucks defenseman Adam Rivet and forwards Bobby Chaumont and Chris Korchinski each scored a goal, despite the Southern Conference falling for the fourth straight season. Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski led the Southern Conference team, along with Equipment Manager Rusty Aldridge and A.T.C. Bobby Moore.

UPCOMING PROMOTIONS

- Saturday against Wichita is HEB Macaroni and cheese night at the LEC. The first 2,500 fans get a box of macaroni and cheese from HEB to use as a makeshift maraca. After the game donate the Mac and Cheese to the South Texas Food Bank, plus bring your canned goods to donate to the South Texas Food Bank as well. Also it's Scout Night with the Bucks. For $25 Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts get a game ticket, commemorative patch, lunch-able, post game skate and can camp out at the LEC.

2006-07 REGULAR SEASON: Laredo is 5-1-1 against Austin. The Bucks beat the Ice Bats 5-3 on 10/29 in Austin. Forward Jeff Genovy registered a hat trick. On 11/03 the Bucks beat the Ice Bats 6-5 in overtime on the road as Bobby Chaumont scored the game winning goal. The Ice Bats beat the Bucks 4-2 in Austin on 12/02 behind two goals from John McNabb. On 12/03 the Bucks rallied from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game at 3-3, before falling 4-3 in overtime to Austin at the LEC. The Bucks beat the Ice Bats 3-2 on 12/08 at the LEC. On 12/15 the Bucks beat Austin 5-1 as forwards Igor Agarunov and Jeff Bes scored a pair of goals each. On 01/05 Eric Marvin made 34 saves as he shutout Austin 3-0 at the LEC.

2005-06: REGULAR SEASON: The Bucks were 7-1-0 against Austin in the 2005-06 season. Laredo was 4-0-0 at home and 3-1-0 on the road.

All-time: Laredo is 31-13-2 against the Ice Bats all-time. The Bucks have out scored the Ice Bats 162-116 over that stretch. Laredo is 11-10-0 all-time in Austin,

- WICHITA THUNDER -

2006-07: REGULAR SEASON: This is the first and only meeting of the regular season.

2005-06: REGULAR SEASON: Laredo was 1-0-0 against Wichita. The Bucks beat the Thunder 3-2 in overtime at the LEC as forward Ladislav Kouba scored the sudden death winner.

All-time: Laredo is 2-0-2 against Wichita. The Bucks are 2-0-0 at the LEC. The teams met on November 2nd, 2002 and Laredo won 7-6 in the second Bucks home game in franchise history. Laredo is 0-0-2 in Wichita all-time.

BOUNCE BACK

- The Bucks lost 4-1 to YNG on 01/13 ending their season high eight game winning streak, but bounced back with a 4-1 win at RGV on 01/14.

WEIRD GOAL

- On 01/14 RGV pulled their goalie at the end of the game, but inadvertently threw the puck into their own net. The goal was credited to Bucks forward Igor Agarunov.

- The Bucks have scored a shorthanded goal in two of the last three games.

Forward Ladislav Kouba scored a pair of goals as the Bucks won for the ninth time in ten games, and 14th time in the last 17. Laredo is a Southern Conference best 23-9-2 with 48 points and they lead the Southeast Division by nine points. Eric Marvin stopped 23 of 24 shots and earned the win to up his record to 13-4-2. Symington started and allowed three goals on 18 shots in 34:27 and took the loss to fall to 8-8-3. Van Nynatten stopped all eight shots he saw in 25:00 of work. FINAL SCORE Laredo 4, Rio Grande Valley 1.

- 01/13/07 - SATURDAY - vs. YOUNGSTOWN - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 4-1 to the visiting Youngstown SteelHounds at the LEC on Saturday night. Forward Mark Odut scored a pair of goals as the SteelHounds ended the Bucks season high eight game win streak. Laredo remains a Southern Conference best 22-9-2 with 46 points. Kevin Reiter allowed three goals on 25 shots and took the loss to fall to 5-2-0. Brad Roberts was solid stopping 20 of 21 shots to improve to 8-5-2. FINAL SCORE Youngstown 4, Laredo 1.

- Single game tickets for the Bucks start at $14.95. Of the 32 home games, 25 will take place on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Game times will remain the same for the 2006-07 season. Weekday games begin at 7 p.m., while Friday and Saturday night games are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday games will be at 4 p.m.
