Season Series:

The Lancers and Musketeers have met four times this season. Sioux City has come out victorious in three of the first four, losing in a shootout on New Year's Eve. Three of the first four meetings however have been one goal games. Two of the first four meetings have required overtime.

Tuesday's game will be the Musketeers second and final trip into Ralston Arena this season. In the last five seasons Omaha has never beaten the Musketeers at home, while on the other hand the Lancers have taken points in five of eight games in Sioux City. Omaha's last victory against the Musketeers in Omaha came while the Lancers were playing at the Civic Auditorium.

A pair of defensemen lead Omaha in scoring against Sioux City through the first four games. Derek Hamelin (1g, 2a) and Michael Joyaux (2g) lead the way in points and goals respectively. Connor Marshall (1g, 1a), Filip Rydstrom (1g, 1a) and Trevor St. Jean (2a) each also have a pair of points. Connor McMenamin (2g, 3a) paces the Sioux City offense with five points. Forward Solag Bakich has four points against Omaha (1g, 3a), however three of his four points came while playing for Des Moines. Defenseman Jacob Wilson (2g) is the only other Musketeer to score more than once against Omaha.

Matiss Kivlenieks has made three starts against Omaha with a 1.93 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. Tommy Nappier is 1-1-0-0 against the Musketeers with a 2.85 goals against average and a .895 save percentage.

Finding His Stride:

After only recording only ten points in his first 34 games, Lancer forward Emilio Pettersen has tallied six points (3g, 3a) in his last five games. With points in each of his last three games Pettersen has jumped to fifth on the team in scoring (8g, 8a, 16 pts).

When Pettersen recorded points in back-to-back games on January 31 and February 3 it was the first time since late October that the forward had done so. Pettersen's first period tally against Waterloo on January 27 was also his first in just over two months. His last goal had come on November 26 against Team USA. The 2000 birth year has two multi-point games in his last three games, the first multi-point games of his career.

Slowing Down A Little:

After the weekend comes to a close the Lancers will have played 11 games in the last 23 days, the busiest stretch of the season. All 11 of those games have come against Western conference foes.

Omaha will face an Eastern Conference foe for the first time since December 28 (Madison) on Friday February 17 when Cedar Rapids comes to town.
