February 8, 2013 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) - Rochester Lancers
(Chicago, IL) - The Rochester Lancers (8-14) scored ten points in the fourth quarter to capture a come from behind 19-15 win over the Chicago Soul (9-13). The Lancers were led offensively by Mauricio Salles who had seven points on the night. Doug Miller and Gary Boughton each contributed two goals on the evening.
After Boughton opened the scoring less than four minutes into the game, Chicago built an 8-2 lead thanks to 3-point goals by Carlos Munoz and Aaron Nichols and a 2-point goal by Alex Megson.
After the defensive second quarter that saw no scoring, things picked back up in the third quarter. Stephen Basso's 3-point goal and Salles and Miller each scored a 2-point goal to pull within two points heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Lancers outscored the Soul 10-4 with Salles completing the three goal hat trick as the Lancers won the game thanks to Miller's game winning goal .
With nine goals by the Lancers this evening Dunkin Donuts will donate nine pounds of coffee to Foodlink. So far this season Dunkin Donuts has donated 131 pounds of coffee.
The Lancers will return to action on Sunday, February 10th when they visit the Milwaukee Wave at 5:00 pm at The US Cellular Arena. The Lancers will return home to Christopher J. Wilmot Field at the Blue Cross Arena on Saturday, February 16th when they host the Syracuse Silver Knights at 1 pm.
