Omaha Lancers News Release
Ralston, NE - The Omaha Lancers, members of the United States Hockey League, host the Sioux Falls Stampede and Tri-City Storm on Friday and Sunday for the team's lone home games of October before starting an eight-game road swing next weekend.
For the second straight year the Lancers are partnering with MCL Construction to present "Scare Away Cancer" Night on Friday, October 7 at 7:05 pm. The team will wear special Halloween themed jerseys that will be auctioned off on the concourse during the game. All money raised by the jersey auction will be donated to Scare Away Cancer.
Scare Away Cancer is an all-volunteer effort from the employees of MCL Construction and other community members that operates with zero administrative costs. In five years, Scare Away Cancer has raised over $400,000 for cancer programs, research, and patients.
When the defending Clark Cup Champion Tri-City Storm come to town on Sunday, October 9 at 5:05 pm, it will be "Undie Sunday" at Ralston Arena. Fans are asked to bring unopened packs of socks and underwear to the game and throw them onto the ice after the Lancers first goal. All the underwear and socks thrown to the ice will be donated to Heartland Family Services.
