Ralston, NE - The Omaha Lancers faced off against the Madison Capitols for a pre-Thanksgiving showdown at Ralston Arena Wednesday night. The Lancers fell to the Capitols back on November 4th, 3-2 in OT. The Lancers brought in new faces to the squad with the additions of Cam Ginetti (D) and Aaron Grounds (F). Omaha also called up Josh Groll (F) from affiliate list for Wednesday nights showdown.

In the first period, Josh Groll showed why he belongs in the USHL by scoring a top-shelf goal on Joey Lamoreaux. Wednesday was Groll's first game as an Omaha Lancers and his USHL debut. The Lancer held the 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

In the second period, Brendan Furry got his 4th goal of the season. Furry broke past the Capitols defense to backhand the puck past Lamoreaux. Later in the period, Madison took advantage of the power-play when Ryan O'Reilly scored on Christian Sbaraglia. Lancers held the 2-1 lead heading into the second intermission.

In the third period, Jack Randl got his 4th goal of the season. Cates, O'Neill, and Randl battled hard to keep the puck in the zone. Cates took a shot that rebounded wide for Randl to sneak in past Lamoreux. Later in the period, Ryan O'Reilly got his second goal of the night on a power play to get the Capitols within one goal. Then with forty seconds left, Filip Suchy got his first goal of the year when he drove the puck down the ice to tap into the empty net. The Lancers topped the Capitols with a final score of 4-2. Christian Sbarglia made 25 saves for Omaha.
