Lamoureux and Carlson Fill Reign Roster Spots

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, announce the signing of forward Jacques Lamoureux and goaltender Dustin Carlson.

Lamoureux (LAM-o-ROO), 26, joins the Reign and his younger brother Mario, after appearing in one game with the Utah Grizzlies this season. Last year the center earned 5 points (3g, 2a) in just 12 games with the Aces, the same team he made his professional debut with in 2010-11.

While playing NCAA Division I hockey with the Air Force Academy, the 6-foot-1, 182-pounder recorded an impressive 139 points (79g, 60a) in 116 games from 2008-11. He played his first year of college hockey in 2006-07 season with Northern Michigan University where he earned a goal and an assist in 16 games.

The Grand Forks, N.D. native led the nation in overall and power-play goals his sophomore year. During his last two seasons with Air Force he was named to the All-Atlantic Hockey Association first team. He was voted by his teammates to wear the "A" his junior year, and was voted to don the "C" his senior year. He also led Air Force to its fourth AHA title in just five years and their fourth NCAA appearance in the school's history.

Lamoureux played 140 games of junior hockey with the Bismarck Bobcats over a three-year span. In that time he earned 118 points (56g, 62a) and 279 penalty minutes.

Carlson, 26, spent part of the 2011-12 season with the Reign and started in four games. While with the Reign he posted a 2.37 goals-against average and a 0.915 save percentage. Midway through the season, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound goalie made the move to the ECHL's Eastern Conference with the Toledo Walleye where he appeared in 14 games. While with the Walleye, Carlson posted a 3.59 goals-against average and saved 88.3 percent of shots faced. Toward the end of the season, the Forest Lake, MN native received his first AHL call-up to the Grand Rapid Griffins, but did not play.

During the 2010-11 season, Carlson made his professional debut with the Idaho Steelheads for five games. He recorded a 3.25 goals-against average and a 0.872 save percentage. Prior to joining the Steelheads, Carlson played for Ohio State University. He played in 71 games and held a 2.49 goals-against average and 0.913 save percentage throughout his collegiate career.

The Reign are in Alaska facing the Aces for three straight games to finish the teams' five-game home-and-away series. After their Tuesday, Jan. 15 game in Bakersfield the team will return to Citizens Business Bank Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 16 to face the Las Vegas Wranglers.
