Lexington Legends News Release

(LAKEWOOD, N.J.) Chace Numata's seventh-inning double drove home the only run of the game as the Lakewood BlueClaws ended the Lexington Legends' winning streak at six games with a 1-0 victory Tuesday night.

The Blue Claws broke through against Legends starter Miguel Almonte in the seventh. With one out, Larry Greene Jr. singled, and after Carlos Tocci flied out to left field, Josh Ludy was hit by a pitch. Numata then lined a double down the left field line, scoring Greene with the game's only run. Legends' pitchers had shut out the BlueClaws for 20 consecutive innings before Numata's hit.

Almonte (1-4), was the losing pitcher. He worked six and two-thirds innings and gave up five hits, including Numata's double.

Delvi Francisco (1-1), who relieved starter Nicholas Hanson at the start of the seventh inning, got the win.

The Legends, who won six of seven games on a road trip to Delmarva and Lakewood, will return home to begin a seven-game homestand Thursday night when they meet the West Virginia Power at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
