(Bridgewater, NJ) - Bryan LaHair lined a two-run home run to right field in the bottom of the seventh to break a tie score as the York Revolution dropped Wednesday's contest to the Somerset Patriots, 5-3 in front of 4,557 fans at TD Bank Ballpark. The Revs fall to 29-23, maintaining a two-game lead for first place over Sugar Land, while Lancaster moves within two games of York for first. The Revs will look to avoid a sweep at Somerset on Thursday night before kicking off a big six-game homestand on Friday evening.

York jumped ahead early as Isaias Tejeda lined a leadoff double to right-center to start the game, extending his hitting streak to 13 consecutive contests, before scoring on a one-out single to left-center by Telvin Nash for a 1-0 lead.

Somerset answered in its half of the first, taking advantage of a strange play. Scott Kelly took a leadoff walk to start the inning. Aharon Eggleston then smashed a line drive that was speared by York pitcher Matt Neil. The throw to first on the attempted double play slipped and bounced away, however, allowing Kelly to advance to third. He would score from there on a ground out to second by Eric Farris, tying things at 1-1.

The Revs benefited from their own bizarre break, retaking the lead in the second inning. The table was set as Alfredo Marte lined a leadoff single to left and Keith Castillo drew a walk. Michael Rockett sacrificed both runners along, and with two outs, both came home on a third-strike wild pitch, giving York a 3-1 lead. Marte sprinted home with the first run on the play, and Castillo followed as catcher Rob Kral's throw to pitcher Alexis Candelario sailed wide and up the middle of the infield.

Somerset erased the lead an inning later with a pair of two-out runs. Brad Snyder worked a walk to keep the inning alive, paving the way for LaHair who cracked an RBI double to left-center, followed by Trayvon Robinson's RBI triple to right-center, tying the score at 3-3.

It remained that way until the bottom of the seventh, when Snyder beat out an infield single with one out, and LaHair connected on his tiebreaking two-run homer to right field.

York managed just five singles after the second inning, reaching second base only twice in that span. Somerset used four relievers following Candelario, with Brandon Sisk (1-2) claiming the win on a scoreless seventh and Jon Hunton notching his 12th save with a perfect ninth.

Revs righty Micah Owings (2-3) was tagged with the loss, allowing LeHair's seventh inning homer after having worked a 1-2-3 sixth.

Snyder and LaHair combined to reach base all eight times for the Patriots out of the fourth and fifth spots in the lineup, respectively. LaHair led the offense, going 3-for-3 with a double, home run, and three RBI.

Notes: Somerset overtakes York for the league's best overall record, now at 30-22. The Revs fall to 3-6 against the Patriots this season, 0-5 at TD Bank Ballpark. Tejeda's 13-game hitting streak is tied for the league's longest active streak, and is the Revs' longest since Nick Ferdinand strung together a 14-gamer last June. York lefty Frank Gailey (2-0, 1.90) gets the ball on Thursday night, facing Somerset righty Shaun Garceau (0-0, 4.50) at 7:05 p.m. Revs fans can catch the action live on SportsRadio 1350, woyk1350.com, and on the WOYK mobile app beginning at 6:45 p.m. with Darrell Henry on the call.
