Kunin to Minnesota Among Many Roster Moves

KUNIN TO MINNESOTA AMONG MANY ROSTER MOVES

DES MOINES, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced on Friday that the Minnesota Wild (NHL) have recalled forward Luke Kunin (Kunn-IN) from Iowa and assigned defenseman Mike Reilly to Iowa. In addition, Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr announced on Friday that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled forwards Dante Salituro (sal-eh-turr-oh) and Evan Janssen from the Rapid City Rush - Iowa's ECHL affiliate.

Kunin, 19 (12/4/97), tallied two points (1-12) and four penalty minutes (PIM) in two games with Iowa this season. The 6-foot, 193-pound native of Chesterfield, Mo., totaled 38 points (22-1638) and 30 PIM in 35 contests during his sophomore season at the University of Wisconsin (Big Ten) in 2016-17. He led the Badgers in goals, points, PPG (9) and shots on goal (112) and served as the team's first sophomore captain in 41 years. Kunin also served as the captain of Team USA at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship, helping the U.S. capture a gold medal with four points (2-24) in seven games.In 2015-16, as the second-youngest player in the NCAA, he ranked second on the Badgers with 32 points (19-1332) and 17 PIM in 34 games. Kunin was the first Badger to be named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and ranked T-3rd in goals and T-8th in scoring amongst NCAA freshmen. He has represented Team USA at seven international tournaments - winning the championship six times and finishing second once. Kunin was selected by Minnesota in the first round (15th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft and has not appeared in an NHL game. He will wear sweater No. 19 with Minnesota.

Reilly, 24 (7/13/93) has tallied two assists in three games with Minnesota this season averaging 11:19 in TOI/game. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound blueliner registered one goal and two penalty minutes (PIM) in 17 games with Minnesota last season and added 30 points (5-2530) and 48 PIM in 57 games with Iowa. He led Iowa defensemen in scoring, assists and shots (129), and ranked second in goals and power-play goals (2). The Chicago, Ill., native totaled 10 points (2-810) in 49 career NHL games with the Wild.

Salituro, 20 (11/15/96) totaled 22 points (11-1122) and 18 penalty minutes (PIM) in 30 games with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 2016-17, before appearing in seven ECHL games and totaling one goal and two PIM in five games with Cleveland of the American Hockey League (AHL). The 5-foot-8, 179-pound native of Willowdale, Ontario, totaled 282 points (122-160282) and 243 PIM in 295 games during five OHL seasons with Ottawa (2012-16) and London (2016-17). He originally signed a three-year, two-way, entry-level contract with Columbus on July 1, 2016. He was acquired by Minnesota in exchange for forward Jordan Schroeder on June 23, 2017.

Janssen, 24 (3/30/93) wrapped in a four-year career this past season at the University of Denver where he played in 146 games. The 6-foot, 185-pound forward scored 14 collegiate goals and added 33 assists for 47 points with the Pioneers. Prior to his collegiate career, the Green Bay, WI native played for the USHL's Dubuque Fighting Saints in 2012-13. The Iowa Wild signed Janssen to an AHL contract on August 1, 2017.

Iowa takes on the Ontario Reign on Friday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena. It is a Bus Beer night with $2 beers presented by 100.3 The Bus. The first 1,500 fans to arrive receive an Iowa Wild poster schedule sponsored by TS Construction, KXNO, Edwards Printing and Napa Auto Parts. There is also a costume for kids drive at the game presented by LAZER 103.3. Fans who donate receive a free weekday ticket voucher.

After a road game in Rockford, the Wild returns home to meet the Manitoba Moose on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. Ladies Night is presented by Style Encore. It is also a Bus Beer night with $2 beers presented by 100.3 The Bus. There is also a $2 off Barefoot Refresh special presented by Barefoot Wine. The Collegeville ticket special is available for purchase at the game presented by KISS FM.

Iowa and Manitoba faceoff again on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena. There is a pregame tailgate party, showcasing the local concert series performance. Decoy performs from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the South Side Patio. Fans may purchase two tallboys for $10 for the local concert series. The Brewdog pack is also available for purchase at the game.
