The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, are pleased to announce forward Jason Krog has been named to the Canadian All-Star Team for the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications to be held at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA from January 25th-26th, 2009.

Krog, 33, currently leads the Moose in scoring with 33 points (8-25-33) in 29 games. His 25 assists currently ranks him ninth in the entire AHL and the Fernie, BC native is also on a four-game assists streak. Earlier this season, Krog has a seven-game point streak from Oct. 10/08 to Nov. 10/08. During that streak, Krog was recalled to the Vancouver Canucks where he played in four games and scored a goal along with two penalty minutes.

This will be only the second AHL All-Star Classic appearance for Krog. Last season, he had an assist in Canada's 9-8 shootout victory over PlanetUSA in Binghamton, NY. Krog had a career season when he appeared in all 80 games last season with the Calder Cup champion Chicago Wolves and led the entire league in scoring in not only the regular season, but also the post-season. During the regular season, the Fernie, BC native became just the third player in the AHL's 72-year history to lead the league in goals (39), assists (73), and points (112). At the end of the regular season, Krog was voted the winner of the Les Cunningham Award as the AHL's Most Valuable Player. He recorded points in 62 of the Wolves' 80 games and had 33 multi-point games. He was then named an AHL 2007-08 First-Team All-Star. Krog followed up that career season with 12 goals and a record-tying 28 assists for 36 points in just 24 Calder Cup playoff games, including four points (3G,1A) in the title-clinching Game 6 over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

During his nine-year pro career, Krog has played in 332 AHL games with Providence, Lowell, Springfield, Bridgeport, Cincinnati, Chicago, and Manitoba. In that span, he's scored 135 goals and 260 assists for 395 points and 119 penalty minutes. He previously reached with the Calder Cup finals in 2002 as a member of the Sound Tigers. In 65 total Calder Cup playoff games, he's collected 27 goals and 55 assists for 82 points and 27 penalty minutes.

Krog also has extensive NHL experience with 198 games with the New York Islanders, Atlanta, Anaheim, and New York Rangers. He has scored 21 NHL goals and 37 assists for 58 points. In 2003, he reached the Stanley Cup final as a member of the Anaheim Ducks. He was also the winner of the Hobey Baker Award as the top college hockey player in the U.S. back in 1999 while playing with the University of New Hampshire Wildcats.
