Kris Oldham Named CCM Goaltender of the Week

"Last weekend was the most complete effort our team has put together so far this season," said Oldham. "Our coaching staff preached to us that preparation is the key to success, and I believe we took that to heart last week."

In two victories during a home-and-home set, the University of Nebraska-Omaha commit put together a 1.90 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage against a high-powered Lincoln offense.

On Friday night in Lincoln, Oldham and the Omaha Lancers defeated the Stars, 3-2, backed by a 36-save performance in net and an early third period goal by captain Nick Rivera just 0:18 in to the final frame. The following night, after trailing 2-0 in the second period, Brian Williams scored the first of three-straight by the Lancers. Mitch Perrault capped off the night in overtime with just 25 seconds remaining for another 3-2 win. The Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick, Oldham, put aside 24 of 26 he faced.

"From the bottom, up, we were prepared for any situation that was presented to us," Oldham finished. "We must work on bringing that every weekend, especially with the standings being so close."

The Lancers return home tomorrow night to face the Sioux City Musketeers to celebrate Blades' Birthday in a 7:05 p.m. puck drop! Can't make it?
