Konan Returned to Phantoms

April 17, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Adirondack Phantoms News Release

The Philadelphia Flyers have returned defensemen Matt Konan to the Adirondack Phantoms, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Konan did not play in last night's game vs. the New York Rangers following his call-up yesterday morning. Had he played, it would have been the NHL debut for the rookie.

The 21-year-old Matt Konan is in his first season of professional hockey, appearing in 42 games with Adirondack where he has two goals and four assists for six points. He also appeared in five games with the club's ECHL affiliate, the Trenton Titans this season.

The Flyers signed the Tustin, Cal. native Konan to an entry-level contract on Apr. 2, 2012 after five seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League.

The Adirondack Phantoms have three games left in the regular season including two at home. Adirondack hosts the Hershey Bears on Friday night and then takes on the Springfield Falcons on Saturday night in the last home game of the season. Saturday is Scoville Gemstone Giveaway Night for the first 500 fans including a grand-prize package over $1,000 in value. Saturday's game also features Super-Fan Cameron Hughes presented by Tackett Chiropractic. Call the Phantoms for more information at 518-480-3355.
