Komets Marino, Rizk Get Call from Norfolk

Fort Wayne, IN ---The Komets announced today that Brandon Marino (RW) and J.M. Rizk (RW) have been loaned to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Marino, 26, is serving his fourth pro season, first with Fort Wayne since skating his first three pro seasons with Quad City in the IHL and CHL. Marino had his best pro year last season scoring a CHL high 41 goals and adding 49 assists for a team best 90 points in 65 games with Quad City. Marino was named the 2012 CHL All-Star Game MVP and capped the season with the CHL MVP Award for the year. The right winger participated in Norfolk's training camp this year.
The Riverside, California native leads the Komets and currently ranks third in the ECHL with 32 assists and 44 points and tops the Fort Wayne plus/minus with +7 after skating all 40 Fort Wayne games to date.
Rizk, 26, participated with Marino in this year's Norfolk training camp. The right winger is skating his second pro season after helping the Komets to the CHL Presidents' Cup Championship last season. The Dunham, Ontario native was selected by Minnesota in the seventh round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft during a three-year OHL stint with Saginaw.
Rizk currently leads the Komets with 15 goals and has added 10 assists for 25 points after appearing in all 40 games.
Komets host Toledo Friday-The Komets will skate three games in four nights this week starting at Evansville Wednesday at 8:15pm ET. Friday the Komets return home to host the Toledo Walleye at 8pm ET. Saturday the Komets travel to Kalamazoo for a 7:30pm ET faceoff at Wings Stadium before the ECHL All-Star break next week. Komet games are webcast at www.komets.com at Xfinity KometCast and aired on WOWO Radio AM 1190 and FM 92.3 with Bob Chase calling the play-by-play.
