Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets fell 5-0 Saturday at Toledo as the Walleye eliminated Fort Wayne in the ECHL Central Division finals best-of-seven series 4-1.
The Komets directed 24 shots at the Walleye net in game 5 as Toledo goaltender Jeff Lerg snagged his first shutout of the 2017 playoffs. Simon Denis led the Walleye with a pair of goals while Tyler Spink, A.J. Jenks and Tyson Spink each contributed markers. Toledo advances to the Western Conference finals against the winner of the Allen-Colorado series.
Komet goaltender Pat Nagle suffered the loss making 23 saves on 28 shots in his ninth post-season appearance.

The annual Komets End-of-Season Party and Jersey Auction is set for this Tuesday, May 9, in the Appleseed Room at the Memorial Coliseum. Doors open at 6pm and the auction will start at 7pm. Admission is $5.00. However, season ticket holders and kids under 12 will be admitted free.
