Komet Syzydlowski Named All-ECHL Second Team Forward

Fort Wayne, IN - Komet right wing Shawn Szydlowski has been named an All-ECHL Second Team forward.
The ECHL announced the 2015-16 All-ECHL Second Team Thursday as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and media, who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards.
Szydlowski receives the recognition for the second consecutive season after earning a spot on the All-ECHL First Team last year. The St. Clair Shores, Michigan native leads the Komets with a career season-high of 50 assists and ranks third in the league with 74 points in 60 games.
The All-ECHL Second Team also includes Jeff Lerg (G, Toledo), Adam Comrie (D, Reading), William Wrenn (D, Alaska), Riley Brace (F, Wheeling) and Jesse Root (F, Missouri).
The Komets will close the 2015-16 ECHL regular season schedule this weekend with a home-and-home series against intrastate rival Indy. Friday the Komets skate at Indy at 7:35pm before returning home to host the Fuel Saturday night at 7:30 in the season finale.
The Komets have clinched first place in the Midwest division and will have home-ice advantage in the first round of the 2016 Kelly Cup playoffs. The first two games of the post-season will be held in Fort Wayne Friday, April 15 at 8pm and Saturday, April 16 at 7:30pm. The Komets' opponent is yet to be determined.
