Johnstown - The Johnstown Tomahawks hosted the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights on Friday night in a very defensive match-up which saw the Knight beat the Tomahawks 2-1.

The Tomahawks came out early and scored just 1:59 into the period. Samuel Solensky extended his point streak to eight games when he stuffed a puck passed Knights' goalie, David Tomeo, to give Johnstown the 1-0 lead. The assists went to Chase Davidson and Donovan Ott, who also extended his own point streak to six games.

That was the only goal of the period.

In the second, it was the Knights who would score the period's only goal. At 16:15 of the period, Tyrone Bronte beat Johnstown's goalie, Kade Phipps, low glove side, to tie the game. The assist went to Reed Robinson.

The teams headed into the third period tied, 1-1.

In the third, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton took the lead when Shay Donovan ripped one past Johnstown's netminder, over his shoulder. The lone assist went to Michael Morrissey at 16:55

Johnstown would pull the goalie late in the period to try and tie the game, but were unable to capitalize with the extra attacker.

The Knights held on for the 2-1 win.
