Domi collected three multi-point games last week helping the Knights win three straight games against the Plymouth Whalers to capture their second straight Wayne Gretzky Trophy as Western Conference Champions. Domi picked up five points including two goals and three assists and was named first star of the 5-4 Game 5 series finale capped off by his heroic overtime winner just 20 seconds into the extra frame to clinch a berth for the Knights in the Rogers OHL Championship Series. Domi also chipped in offensively in Plymouth scoring twice on Tuesday in a 6-4 win that gave the Knights a 2-1 series advantage, then picked up three assists on Wednesday in another 6-4 win for the Knights in Game 4.
Domi, an 18-year-old from Toronto, ON, is playing in his second OHL season with the Knights. Currently tied for the lead in OHL Playoff scoring with 25 points in 14 games, Domi led the Knights in regular season scoring with 87 points in 64 games collecting 39 goals and 48 assists. He is eligible for the 2013 NHL Draft and was recently listed 19th overall among North American Skaters by NHL Central Scouting in their Final Draft Rankings.
Also considered for the award this week was the Knights' Alex Broadhurst with four goals and three assists for seven points in three games, and Zach Hall of the Barrie Colts who scored two goals and five assists for seven points in three games.
