(DURHAM, NC) - Rymer Liriano launched two home runs for the second time in a game this season, but the Charlotte Knights dropped game two of their three-game series to the Durham Bulls by a score of 8-4 on Wednesday at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, NC.
Liriano first homered in the fourth inning on Wednesday, a solo shot off Durham starter Ryan Yarbrough (8-4, 3.79). Four innings later, Liriano did it again, this time he launched a two-run home run off reliever Jose Alvarado. Liriano finished the night 2-for-3 with two runs scored, two home runs, and three RBIs. He also hit two home runs on June 18th at BB&T Ballpark. He has seven home runs so far in 2017.
Nicky Delmonico added his 12th home run of the season, a solo shot in the fourth frame. Delmonico went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, the home run, and one RBI. Chicago White Sox infielder Tyler Saladino continued his rehab assignment and went 2-for-3. Second baseman Yoan Moncada, Major League Baseball's top prospect, chipped in with one of Charlotte's eight hits.
Charlotte RHP Tyler Danish (2-7, 4.57) started for the Knights and gave up four runs on nine hits. Danish, who also struck out four batters, was charged with the loss. Yarbrough earned the win for the Bulls.
The game lasted three hour and four minutes long, however a 49-minute rain delay slowed things down in the bottom of the eighth inning.
