Knights Acquire Joe Schuler from the New Jersey Titans

Building a kingdom requires a lot of bricks, and the Knights feel they've added another solid piece to their foundation with the acquisition of Joe Schuler. A forward for the New Jersey Titans last year, Schuler scored nine goals and tallied 15 assists in 59 games played.
"I'm a gritty guy who likes to play bigger than my size," said Schuler of his style of play. "I think playing in this league last year, and in a division as physical as the East, it's just a good way to succeed."
The former Titans is the second New Jersey forward to join the Knights after playing for the Titans last season. Mike Gelatt, who the Knights acquired in a draft day trade, was Schuler's line mate at times in 2015-16.
"It's great to add another talented guy to the lineup," said Head Coach and GM Tom Kowal. Joe is a forward who scored north of 20 points in this league last year and was a player we saw a lot of. He's shown me he can be successful in this league. He's more quality experience added to our locker room."
Schuler scored three goals and three assists against the Knights over the course of 16 games last year. In return for the Webster, New York native, the Knights will trade a future draft pick.
"Obviously everyone wants to play division one hockey," said Schuler of the upcoming season. "As a â96 birth year it's my last kick at the can, and I'm happy to be heading to a good team. I want to come in and compete, win games, and have fun. It's something my dad tells me before every game."
