April 13, 2017 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Rochester Knighthawks News Release

The Rochester Knighthawks had a productive bye weekend, gaining ground on Buffalo and New England - two teams they are chasing for a postseason berth.

With both teams suffering losses, Rochester (5-9) moved into a fourth-place tie with Buffalo (5-9) and pulled within one and half games of New England (7-8) for the third and final playoff spot in the East Division.

The Knighthawks return to action on Saturday, April 15 to battle the Colorado Mammoth. The 9:00 p.m. game at Pepsi Center is the NLL Game of Week, which will air live on Twitter and be simulcast on NLLTV.com.

Radio Broadcast Info: The game will be broadcast on 107.3 The Bull and is available on the iHeartRadio app.

Scouting the Knighthawks: The Knighthawks dropped their last game, 11-9, to the Calgary Roughnecks on April 1. Rochester was led by five points from Joe Resetarits, while seven other players scored goals for Rochester. Graeme Hossack, Brad Gillies and Scott Campbell all tallied transition goals as the Knighthawks pulled within two goals of the Roughnecks in the third quarter. Gillies' marker extended his goal-scoring streak to a career-high four games. Rookie Luke Laszkiewicz, who played in his first NLL game, also collected his first professional point on an assist to fellow rookie Kyle Jackson. Matt Vinc finished the night with 31 saves.

Resetarits having Career Year: Joe Resetarits has already surpassed his career marks for assists and points in a single-season, and is six goals shy of a new personal best. With four games to play, the Hamburg, NY native has 20 goals, 31 assists for 51 points. He leads the Knighthawks in assists and is two points back of team points leader Kyle Jackson.

Vinc among League's Best: Matt Vinc is second in the NLL in goals-against average (10.87), fourth in save percentage (.784) and fifth in saves (502).

Dawson to make his Return: Forward Dan Dawson is back from a one-game suspension and will return to the lineup Saturday. This season, the 16-year pro has 10 goals and 29 assists in 11 games.

Milestone Alert:

Dan Dawson needs five assists to become only the fourth player in NLL history to reach 800.

Dylan Evans needs 33 faceoff wins to pass Stephen Hoar (891) to become the franchise's all-time leader.

The Knighthawks are two wins shy of reaching 200 as a franchise.

Scouting the Mammoth: Like the Knighthawks, the Mammoth (8-7) are coming off a bye weekend. Colorado is in second place in the West Division and is two and a half games behind Saskatchewan. With Dillon Ward leading the way in goal, the Mammoth have the second lowest goals-against average in the NLL (11.27). Ward leads the NLL with a .790 save percentage. Callum Crawford leads the offense with 85 points, which is fifth best in the NLL. Crawford is also third in the league with 54 assists.

Next Game: The Knighthawks are back home on Saturday, April 22 to host the New England Black Wolves at 7:30 p.m. at Connors & Ferris Field at The Blue Cross Arena. The game is the fourth and final meeting of the regular season between the two teams.
