Rochester Knighthawks News Release

The Rochester Knighthawks announced today that they have activated Brad Self and Dylan Evans from the physically unable to perform list. The pair of veteran defensemen are now available for the Knighthawks' Saturday game against the Georgia Swarm.

"It will be great to have two veteran guys back in the lineup," said Knighthawks defenseman Mike Kirk. "Both Dylan and Brad play at a high level and bring a lot of experience to our back end."

Self last played in September when he won a gold medal with Team Canada at the FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championship. The 34-year-old is entering his 10th season in the National Lacrosse League and fifth with the Knighthawks. Last season, Self posted a career-high 133 loose balls, which was the sixth highest single-season total in team history. He finished seventh in the league in that category and was tied for third in points among defensemen with 20.

Self was also a huge contributor during the 2015 Playoffs, notching 10 points (4+6) in four games. It was his career-high six points (3+3) and 16 loose balls that helped the Knighthawks win Game One of the East Division Finals. With Self's return, the Knighthawks now have one of the game's most versatile players back in the lineup.

"It feels great," said Self. "It's nice to finally get cleared and feel healthy, and get back on the floor."

The Knighthawks further strengthened their defense with the addition of Evans. The sixth-year pro has spent his entire career in Rochester and has become one of the most reliable faceoff men in team history. The 28-year-old ranks third all-time with 530 faceoff wins and is the franchise's all-time playoff leader with 111. Last season, Evans played in 18 games and recorded seven points (2+5), 126 loose balls and 213 faceoff wins.

Evans joins a defense that has allowed the second least amount of goals in the East Division, yielding only 28 in three games. Over the last two games, Rochester held Toronto to just seven and five goals in a pair of wins. After three games, it's time for Evans to get back out on the turf and rejoin his teammates. He is anxiously anticipating his return this Saturday when Rochester hosts Georgia at Connors & Ferris Field at The Blue Cross Arena.

"I'm excited," said Evans. "After a couple unexpected and frustrating setbacks I'm ready to get back out there."
