Kitchener Rangers and Oshawa Generals Announce Trade

The Kitchener Rangers announced today they have traded defenceman Giovanni Vallati to the Oshawa Generals.

In exchange, the Rangers will receive:

2nd round pick (OSH) in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection

2nd round pick (GUE) in 2020

3rd round pick (OSH) in 2022 and

3rd round pick (OSH) in 2023

The 18-year-old, Ottawa, ON native is entering his third Ontario Hockey League season in 2018-19 after being selected as the Rangers first round pick, 16th overall, in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

He played a career-high 65 regular season games for the Blueshirts in 2017-18, compiling new highs in assists (23) and points (26). He participated in the Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Guelph as a member of Team Cherry in January.

He was selected to represent Canada at the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Sault Ste. Marie in October/November 2016 as a member of Team Canada Black, where he captured a silver medal.

Giovanni was selected in the 5th round, 153rd overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2018 NHL Draft in June.

"We wish Giovanni and his family nothing but the best as he continues his junior hockey career in Oshawa."
