Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have agreed to terms on a two-year entry level contract with free agent defenseman Peter Harrold, Kings President of Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.
Harrold, 22, led all club defensemen and had career highs in goals (7), assists (23) and points (30) in 42 games with Boston College this season, where he served as captain for a team that advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four championship game. In addition, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Kirtland Hills, Ohio, finished his senior season with 32 penalty minutes and a plus-24 rating.
Harrold, who collected at least a point in 14 of his last 21 games and anchored a BC defense that held opponents to two or fewer goals 23 times, captured 2005-06 All-America first team honors and Hockey East's Best Defensive Defenseman award. He also earned Hockey East first team honors, gained Hockey East all-tournament team recognition and was selected to the NCAA Northeast Regional all-tournament team.
Harrold, a member of two Frozen Four teams and four NCAA tournament teams while at BC, finished his collegiate career with 70 points (14-56=70) and 86 penalty minutes in 156 games.
