Kingery Named Eastern League Player of The Month

(Reading, Pa) - The Eastern League has announced that Reading Fightin Phils second baseman Scott Kingery has been selected as the Eastern League Player of the Month of May. Kingery batted .325 (41-for-126) with seven doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 30 runs scored, 13 RBIs, a .388 on-base percentage, and a .667 slugging percentage in 30 games this month.

Kingery led all Eastern League players in home runs (10), runs scored (30), total bases (84), stolen bases (8), slugging percentage (.667), and OPS (1.055) during the month of May and tied for the league lead in extra-base hits (20). He also finished ranked among the monthly league leaders in hits (41-2nd) and batting average (.325-8th).

Kingery leads all of Minor League Baseball with 17 home runs and is currently tied for second in runs (51) and extra-base hits (33). He's currently fourth in all of Minor League Baseball with a .651 slugging percentage. His 17 home runs is currently tied for second in all of professional baseball with Khris Davis of the Oakland A's and trails only Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees (18).

The Fightins second baseman is batting .311 (65-for-209) with 12 doubles, four triples, 17 home runs, 51 runs scored, and 32 RBIs in 52 games for the Fightin Phils this season. He currently leads the league in home runs, runs scored, slugging percentage (.651), extra-base hits (33), and total bases (136), and is tied for second in the league with 13 stolen bases.
