Charleston Lowgators News Release

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 14) –The Roanoke Dazzle received 18 points off the bench from Mike King in a 92-80 win over the North Charleston Lowgators at the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday night.

After trailing 39-31 at halftime, the Dazzle shot a sizzling 63 % after intermission and outscored the Lowgators the rest of the way 61-41.

Roanoke coach Kent Davison said, “Our defense was where we wanted it to be in the first half, we just didn’t execute offensively. In the second half we made some really big shots and offensively we got it together. Against North Charleston, we did not want the score to get into the hundreds.”

The Lowgators struggled defensively despite getting Tierre Brown back from his 10-day stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“We didn’t play any defense. If you are going to be a playoff team, you have to play playoff defense. We did not do that tonight. I though we had energy but the team was not focused,” Lowgators coach Doug Marty said.

Cory Alexander (16 points), Mikki Moore (15), Jamal Robinson (14), Terrence Shannon (13) and George Williams (12) joined King in double figures for the Dazzle. Moore also had 12 rebounds.

Sedric Webber’s 19 digits led the Lowgators (24-23). Tierre Brown and Peter Cornell added 12 each.

North Charleston, with their magic number for a playoff birth still at two, will host Columbus on Monday. Roanoke (24-22) will welcome Greenville on Sunday afternoon.
