Need to Know:

Kielly's record

Jake Kielly's Game 1 shutout made him the first Storm goalie to record multiple postseason shutouts. Tri-City has had four postseason perfections and Kielly owns two. Peter Mannino had one shutout in the 2004 Clark Cup Playoffs and Mike Zaccharias had one in the 2005 postseason.

The 19-year-old's efforts have helped the Storm win the first game of its first two series; Kielly shut out Sioux Falls in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals before his 32-save shutout in Game 1 of the Conference Finals.

The Clarkson commit has not allowed more than two goals in a postseason game and owns the top goals against average (1.01) and save percentage (.966). The 6-foot-3, 190-lb. netminder has stopped 142 of 147 shots. During the regular season, Kielly set Tri-City's single-season save percentage record (.919).

Carson and Nico

Carson Meyer is tied for the USHL playoff goals lead (4g) and Nico Sturm is the only Storm player to record a point in every postseason game, reigniting a spark between the pair. Sturm has centered a line with Meyer on the right wing for nearly the entire season.

A native of Augsburg, Germany, Sturm has a six-game point streak (3g, 4a) that goes back to the final game of the regular season against Omaha. Meyer finished with a team-best 32 goals in the regular season and has goals in three of five postseason games.

The two have often played off each other in dominant efforts; Meyer leads the squad with 13 multi-point games and Sturm is second with 11.

USHL Draft Primer

Phase I of the USHL Draft is Monday, May 2 at 6 p.m. and Phase II takes place Tuesday, May 3. Phase I of the Draft is ten rounds of "futures" age players only, which are U-17 players for next season. Phase II of the Draft is open to players of all ages eligible to play junior hockey that are not currently protected by another USHL team. Teams fill their rosters to a total of 45 players on this date.

All veteran roster players are protected by their current team until July 10.

In Phase II of the 2015 USHL Draft, the Storm took multiple players that have played huge dividends this season. In the first round of Phase II, 14th overall, the Storm selected center Alex Limoges, who finished this season with 14 goals, 39 points, and a plus-19 rating in 43 games. Also key down the middle, in the fifth round, Tri-City picked 20-year-old center Nico Sturm, who is tied for second on the Storm with six playoff points.

With the 129th overall pick in the eighth round, Tri-City drafted Justin Dixson, who contributed six assists in 37 games.

In the 11th round, 177th overall, the Storm selected one of its most-important defensemen, Joey Matthews. A native of Columbia, Illinois, Matthews has grown into an important two-way defender (2g, 8a) that sees regular power-play time.
