Khudobin's Return Highlights Recent Transactions

Beaumont, TX- First-team All-ECHL goaltender Anton Khudobin was returned on loan to the Texas Wildcatters Monday after spending nearly two months with the AHL's Houston Aeros.

The All-Star rookie and Minnesota Wild prospect was recalled by Houston following his last appearance with the Wildcatters on February 12, a 26-save shutout against the Trenton Titans.

Khudobin has dominated the ECHL this season, posting a 20-1-1-3 record while accumulating a 1.98 goals-against average and.934 save percentage in over 1500 minutes of play.

The Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan native was no slouch during his AHL tenure. Khudobin went 2-2-0-1 in 12 appearances with Houston this season, posting a goals-against average of 1.99 and a .911 save percentage.

Khudobin brings with him a 7-0-0 record and 1.75 goals-against average versus the Mississippi Sea Wolves, the Wildcatters first-round opponents in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Game 1 of the South Division Quarterfinals begins Wednesday at 7:05 in Ford Arena and continues with Game 2 Thursday.

Khudobin's return meant an overload between the pipes. As a result, Jeff Pietrasiak (8-3-1-2, 2.84, 0.892) was released by the team Monday.

Additionally, forward Marc Fulton and defenseman Jim Jensen were both released by the Wildcatters Monday as Head Coach Malcolm Cameron made last minute moves before declaring his playoff roster to the ECHL this afternoon at 2 p.m. Central Time.

Over the weekend, forward Bill Bagron was waived by the Wildcatters as Troy Riddle was reassigned to Texas by Houston Saturday after a two-week AHL recall.

Final playoff rosters are expected to be confirmed by the league and released early Tuesday.
