Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill.- In a four-way tie for the eighth spot in the Western Conference playoff race, the Rockford IceHogs (33-28-2-1) will look to gain sole possession of the final playoff seed tonight as they host the Toronto Marlies (36-20-2-6) at 7:05 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
Tonight's tilt is a WXRX Dollar Day at the BMO as fans can take advantage of buying beers, sodas, hot dogs and companion tickets for just one dollar each.
For tickets to tonight's contest, call (815) 968-5222, visit icehogs.com or stop by the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet.
The game tonight can be viewed on 23.2 Antenna TV, Comcast Cable channel 436, Charter channel 970, Mediacom 101 or online with AHL Live. A free radio web stream can also be found on AHLLive.com.
The matchup with the top team in the North Division is the second and final meeting between the two squads. The Marlies took the first in the season series with a 5-2 win on Jan. 5 in Toronto. Overall, the IceHogs show a record of 6-3-1-1 all-time against the Toronto Maple Leaf's affiliate.
The Hogs are coming off of a weekend in which they took three of four points away from the Abbotsford Heat to keep pace in the Western Conference playoff race.
Winger Rostislav Olesz gave a boost to the IceHogs lineup over the weekend as he returned to action for the first time since suffering an injury on April 1, 2012. In the two contests against the Heat, Olesz notched three points (2g-1a), including a goal with 10-seconds left in regulation on Saturday to send the game into overtime and help the Hogs earn a point in the 4-3 overtime loss.
Next Home Game: Friday, March 29 vs. Milwaukee Admirals at 7:05 p.m. The Midwest Division showdown between the IceHogs and Admirals is the ninth meeting between the two teams on the campaign, with each squad holding a 4-3-1-0 record in the season series.
