Key at Bat Helps the Seacoast Mavericks Defeat Torrington

Frankely Gonzalez came off the bench and never even had to swing his bat as Gonzalez reached on a error in the three to lead the Seacoast Mavericks (19-9) to a 13-8 win over the Torrington Titans (11-17) on Tuesday at Fuessenich Park. With the Seacoast Mavericks leading by one, reached on an error. Michael Hart rocked the Torrington Titans with two home runs. Hart went 3-5 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. Hart homered in the first and eighth innings. Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 21 total runs and 24 hits during the game. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were nine pitchers used in the game. Connor Russell improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Seacoast Mavericks. He allowed three runs over four innings. Russell struck out three, walked one and gave up five hits. Jordan Whaley couldn't get it done on the bump for the Torrington Titans, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
