Salt Lake Bees News Release
SALT LAKE CITY (June 1, 2009) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that right-handed pitcher Kelvim Escobar will make a rehab start for the Salt Lake Bees tonight in the team's home game against the Reno Aces at 7:05 p.m. He is expected to throw 90 pitches in the game.
Escobar, 33, was placed on the Disabled List with right shoulder inflammation after a preseason outing earlier this year. He missed the entire 2008 season with a torn labrum. He has made two rehab appearances in 2009 with the Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, registering 12 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .059 average in 10.2 innings. The native of Venezuela enjoyed a career year in 2007, finishing 18-7 with a 3.40 ERA and 160 strikeouts in 30 starts for the Angels.
Book your summer group outing with the Salt Lake Bees while dates are still available. Season tickets start as low as $7 per game. Choose from several ticket packages, priced for every budget, by calling (801) 325-BEES.
