Katy Copperheads reschedule tryouts

Katy, TX (December 14, 2005) -The Katy Copperheads are announcing that the December 17th open player tryouts have been postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, January 7th due to the Katy High School Tigers run for State. Coach Blake encourages everyone to go and support the Katy Tigers, who will be playing for the 5A Division II Football State Championship on Saturday, December 17th at Noon in Texas Stadium. "I certainly didn't want to take any of the focus away from the Tigers. They have had an incredible season, and deserve all the attention at this point. I will be joining the enormous ‘Sea of Red' this Saturday to help support these young men".

Saturday, January 7th Tryout Information:

Registration will begin at 8:00AM with the tryout beginning soon there after. There will be a cash only registration fee of $35.00. All participants will receive an official NIFL 2006 Katy Copperheads tryout t-shirt. You must be 19 years or older to tryout.

Player will be tested & evaluated on the following:

- 40yd dash

- 15yd Pro shuttle

- Standing broad jump

- Bench press (OL/DL/LB reps 225lb) (WR/DB/RB reps 185lb)

- Footwork & agility drills

- 1 on 1 drills

- Team (5 on 5)

When: Saturday, January 7th, 2005

Time: Registration begins at 8:00AM.

Location: Rhodes Stadium, 1733 Katy Fort Bend Road, Katy, TX 77493 (Players will need to bring appropriate shoes and clothing for outdoors and the Field Turf surface.)

-The Copperheads are looking to fill several position for the up coming 2006 inaugural season. Coach Blake is very excited about the extremely large talent pool the Katy & Greater Houston Area has to offer. "I hope to fill my roster with as many local players as possible."
