Kansas City Comets Look to Sweep Ambush
KANSAS CITY - The Kansas City Comets return to the Silverstein Eye Centers to face off against cross-state rivals, the St Louis Ambush on Friday, February 9th at 7:35 p.m. CT. This is the fourth and final match between these two teams for the season.
GAME NOTES - Comets vs Ambush 2/9/18
It is also the Comets 8th Annual Pink Game to benefit The Ali Kemp Educational (TAKE) Foundation. The team will be wearing special pink jerseys with the TAKE Foundation logo on it and will be offering them to fans through a silent auction held during the match.
The Comets are 3-0 this season against the Ambush, but it has not been easy. In the season opener, the Comets needed six 4th quarter goals to win at home. On January 6th the Ambush jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the Comets came back to win 11-9.
Last week the Comets held the lead through much of the game, but still needed a game-winning score from Leo Gibson in the final two minutes to hold off their rivals.
Gibson was named to the MASL Team of the Week for his four-goal effort in last week's match. He has scored 12 goals in the last five games to keep the Comets playoff hopes alive.
Tickets are still available for the Comets Pink Game against the St Louis Ambush. Fans can choose their seats online here. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. CT with doors opening and the jersey auction beginning at 6:00 p.m. CT.
The Kansas City Comets have a long rich history of indoor soccer in KC, including the 2014 MISL Championship. For tickets and information call 888.9.COMETS (888.926.6387).
