Kalamazoo Wings Release 2017-18 Schedule

KALAMAZOO, MI- Set to drop the puck on their 44th season of professional hockey, the Kalamazoo Wings announced their schedule for the 2017-18 season on Tuesday.

The schedule features 72 games (36 home, 36 away) from October 14, 2017-April 8, 2018. Kalamazoo will set off on their chase for the Kelly Cup on Saturday, October 14, at U.S. Bank Arena against the Cincinnati Cyclones.

The Wings will return home to host the Brampton Beast for the 44th annual home opener at Wings Event Center on Saturday, October 21. Along with some familiar foes on the docket, Kalamazoo will make their first-ever visits to Idaho and Wichita, while entertaining Rapid City for the first time in franchise history.

Games on Tuesday-Saturday at Wings Event Center will start at 7 p.m., and Sunday games will drop the puck at 3 p.m. The only exception to this standard is the annual education day game on Wednesday, October 25, as the Wings host the Kansas City Mavericks for a 10:30 a.m. contest.

The Wings will host staples such as the annual Halloween Orange Ice game on October 28, a New Year's Eve matinee game on December 31, a Valentine's Day showdown on February 14, and the 37th annual "World Famous" Green Ice game on Saturday, March 17.

Kalamazoo's 36 home games will be spread out over one Tuesday, four Wednesdays, one Thursday, nine Fridays, 16 Saturdays, and six Sundays.

Kalamazoo's schedule includes games against (total match-ups in parenthesis): Indy (10), Brampton (9), Quad City (8), Cincinnati (7), Fort Wayne (6), Toledo (6), Wichita (6), Kansas City (5), Idaho (3), Adirondack (2), Atlanta (2), Norfolk (2), Wheeling (2), Orlando (1), Rapid City (1), South Carolina (1), and Tulsa (1).
