PORTLAND, Maine - The NBA G League announced its All-NBA G League teams today, and Maine Red Claws point guard Kadeem Allen has been named to the NBA G League All-Defensive Team for the 2017-18 season.

Allen was a second round (53rd overall) selection by the Boston Celtics in the 2017 NBA Draft, and played in both Maine and Boston on a Two-Way contract. With Maine, Allen played in 34 games, and was among the league leaders in steals, averaging 2.2 steals per game. Allen also averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists.

Allen was also named NBA G League Player of the Week for the week ending on Jan. 28, and along with fellow Two-Way Player Jabari Bird was named to the Midseason All-NBA G League East Team.

With the Celtics, Allen played in 18 games (1 start), averaging 1.1 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 6.0 minutes per game.

Allen is the 9th Red Claws player to be named to a G League All-Defensive team, and the first since Tim Frazier and Chris Babb were both selected after the 2014-15 season.

The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, will tip off their 10th season this fall at the Portland Expo.
