K-Wings Training Camp Roster Unveiled

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL, three-time defending North Division Champions and National Hockey League affiliate to the Vancouver Canucks, and American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves announce their roster for training camp.

The K-Wings will begin camp with 20 players (12 forwards, 6 defensemen and 2 goaltenders).

Two members of the K-Wings (John Armstrong, and Cody Crichton) are skating with the Chicago Wolves, while Eric Kattelus is in camp with the Grand Rapids Griffins and Mike Matczak is participating with the Manchester Monarchs.

Director of hockey operations/head coach Nick Bootland, who was on the ice this afternoon with the K-Wings, also spent time in the AHL. Bootland returned to Kalamazoo yesterday after spending five days in the training camp of the Wolves.

The K-Wings first practice of the season occurred today in The Annex.

For the rest of the week (Thursday-Saturday) practice will commence at 10 a.m. All practices will be held at The Annex.

The K-Wings will get their first taste of preseason game action on Friday, October 5th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off at Borgess Rink at Wings West, which is located on 5076 Sports Drive off of 9th Street in Kalamazoo, versus the Toledo Walleye.

Tickets for the game will be $5 general admission and only available at the door. Fans can also watch the game from Old Burdick's Wings West for an additional charge of $5. All K-Wings season ticket holders will receive a FREE ticket to the October 5th matchup; however, any season ticket holder that wishes to watch the game from Old Burdick's will have a cost of $5.

The game was moved to Wings West two weeks ago after Stadium Management Co. announced plans for a two-million dollar renovation to Wings Stadium, which will be completed in time for the K-Wings home opener on Friday, October 19th versus long-time rival, the Fort Wayne Komets.

The K-Wings and Walleye will meet again on Saturday, October 6th for a 9 p.m. encounter at the Huntington Center in Toledo.

Fans that can't make it to either preseason game, can still listen to both contests on the radio or on line. Both preseason clashes can be heard live at 92.5 WZUU or at kwings.com starting 15 minutes prior to face-off with the Kalsee Credit Union Pregame Show.

Single-game and season tickets for the upcoming 2012-2013 season are on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office. Ticket Office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday's. To charge tickets by phone, please call Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000

Tickets for all K-Wings home games are $13 and $17.50 for adults and only $7 for kids ages 14 and under. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and New Year's Eve game) are just $1 more.

Fans can save money by purchasing K-Wings single-game tickets in advance because tickets purchased on the day of a game increase by $2 (adults only).
