Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Toledo, OH - Wearing Star Wars Jedi jerseys, the Toledo Walleye (3-1-0-1) used the force to avenge Friday night's loss to the Kalamazoo Wings (1-3-0-0) with a 3-1 victory Saturday at the Huntington Center.

Scoreless after the opening 20 minutes, Toledo took the lead early in the second period with a goal from Marek Tvrdon (1st). Seconds after squandering a power-play, the Walleye forward took advantage of the unsettled situation by finding space atop the right circle and sending a slap shot past Jordan Binnington.

The Walleye pushed their lead to two goals 8:32 into the period with a goal from Kyle Rogers (1st).

Toledo extended their lead 16:19 into the third period with a power-play goal from Travis Parkes. The goal was Parkes' team-best fifth of the season and capped off a three-point night (1 goal, 2 assists) for the forward.

Breaking up the shutout bid with 1:10 remaining in regulation, David Pacan won an offensive zone face-off to Ludwig Blomstrand (1st), who quickly rifled the puck past Toledo's Mac Curruth.

Curruth (3-1-0-0), who was in net for the Walleye's lost the night before, made 25 saves in the victory. Binnington (0-2-0-0) turned aside 27 saves in the loss.

Wrapping up the week tomorrow Sunday, November 3rd, the K-Wings will return home to Wings Stadium for a 3 p.m. showdown versus the Cincinnati Cyclones on a Family Hockey Day in the 'ZOO presented by Walgreen's, Bronson Orthopedic Sports Medicine, Consumers Credit Union and Charter Media.
