Maine Celtics News Release

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, today announced forward Justin Brownlee has signed into the NBA Development League and has rejoined the Red Claws roster. Brownlee appeared in 50 games for the Red Claws last season, with the 6-7, 230 lb. St. John's product averaging 8.0 ppg. To make room on the roster for Brownlee, the Red Claws have waived guard Raheem Singleton.

The Red Claws will open the home portion of their 2012-13 regular this Friday, November 30 vs. the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The Red Claws will return home following a successful two-game road trip which saw the team battle back to defeat the Canton Charge Friday, 123-115, and hold on against a scrappy Fort Wayne Mad Ants team on Sunday, 117-112. The pair of wins marked the first time in the team's history that Maine has opened the season with a win streak.

The Red Claws will play 24 home games at the Portland Expo this season, and individual ticket prices are available for $6, $10, $15, $20 and $30. Tickets for all Red Claws home games are now on sale and may be purchased by calling (207) 210-6655, in person at the Red Claws Team Store located at 413 Congress Street in Portland, or online at www.MaineRedClaws.com or www.TicketReturn.com.

Maine Red Claws - 2012-13 marks the fourth season for the Maine Red Claws. The Red Claws have been the minor league affiliate of the Boston Celtic since their inaugural season of 2009-10, and 2012-13 marks the first season of a new "hybrid" affiliation between the two teams. Under the hybrid model, the Boston Celtics have contracted to run the basketball operations for the Maine Red Claws, including the hiring and training of the coaching and training staff as well as the all player transactions and will act as the Red Claws' sole NBA partner. The Red Claws play their home games at the Portland Expo Building. The franchise is owned and operated by Maine Basketball, LLC, which is principally owned by Bill Ryan Sr., the retired chairman of TD Bank, and Bill Ryan Jr. who serves as the team's President and Chairman.
