ICYMI: Braxton Davidson and Reed Harper both hit home runs, but the Keys rallied for two runs and three hits in the ninth against Chase Johnson-Mullins while walking off 6-5 against the Mudcats on Monday night at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. Johnson-Mullins (BS, 2, 0-4, 3.13) entered the ninth with a 5-4 lead and retired the first batter he faced before giving up three hits and two runs in the final frame.

ABOUT THE LAST ONE: Last night was the second walk-off, last at bat, loss for the Mudcats in Frederick this season. The Keys also walked-off against Carolina on 6/4 after breaking a 4-4 tie in the 11th on a game winning single from Jay Gonzalez. The Mudcats have been walked off three times this season (4/21 at MB, 6/4 at FRE, 6/27 at FRE).

ON TO THE NEXT ONE: The Mudcats continue a seven game road trip with game two of a three game series tonight in Frederick against the Keys. The Mudcats are coming off a ninth inning loss to the Keys last night and are 2-3 in the current road trip. Carolina was 4-4 versus Frederick in the first half, including a 2-2 mark at home and a 2-2 record on the road. The Mudcats are batting .237 and have pitched to a 3.81 ERA against the Keys this season.

STARTING OFF: Michael O'Neal will make a spot start for the Mudcats tonight in game two of three in Frederick against the Keys. O'Neal is 1-1 this season and has pitched to a 2.41 ERA over 13 games and 18.2 innings pitched. Tonight marks his first start with the Mudcats, but his second overall this season. O'Neal also made a spot start for the Mississippi Braves on 5/23 in Mobile. He pitched through 4.0 scoreless innings (4.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 1 SO) in his first appearance for the MBraves late last month. He also pitched on 6/13 in Mississippi against the Jacksonville Suns in game two of a doubleheader (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 HB). O'Neal is in his first professional season in affiliated baseball. He was signed by the Braves last November after being released by the Gateway Grizzlies of the independent Frontier League in 2015.

HOT AT THE PLATE: Sal Giardina is batting .342/.359/.474 (13-for-38) over his last 10 games and has raised his season average from .106 to .216 over his last 12 games... Tanner Murphy is batting 6-for-17 over his last six games and is batting .353/.522/.588 over his last six... Reed Harper has hit safely in five straight (8-for-19) and is batting .421/.421/.632 (8-for-19, 3 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 5 RBI) over his last five games.

TRENDING: The Mudcats bullpen is 3-4 with five saves and a 1.47 ERA since A.J. Minter made his debut on 5/22 (92.0 IP, 74 H, 26 R, 15 ER, 43 BB, 74 SO, .224 AVG)... A.J. Minter has pitched through seven straight appearances without allowing a run (7 G, 8.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 8 SO)... The Mudcats starting rotation is 2-0 and has pitched to a 2.45 ERA over the first five games of the second half (5 GS, 29.1 IP, 29 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 3 HR, 7 BB, 14 SO, .252 AVG)... Carolina's catchers have caught 18 of 59 base stealers since 5/19 (41 SB, .305); raising the club's caught stealing efficiency from .143 to .221 on the season.
