INDEPENDENCE, MO - The Missouri Mavericks defeated the Evansville IceMen on Tuesday night, edging the visiting team 6-5 in overtime at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Josh Robinson earned his 17th consecutive win, setting a new ECHL goaltender record for a single-season win streak.

Robinson made 24 saves through 64:51 between the pipes for the Mavericks. He tied the previous league record (16 consecutive wins) last Friday night, set by Jeff Jakaitis with the South Carolina during the 2014-15 season.

The Missouri Mavericks scored first when Andrew Courtney lit the lamp just 3:30 into the opening frame while the home team was in a man-advantage situation. Jesse Root and Jesse Graham assisted on the power-play goal.

Then the momentum swung in favor of the IceMen, who scored 3 unanswered goals via Vincent Dunn, Danny Hobbs, and Chris Rumble (PPG) through the remainder of the period.

The Mavs fought back in the second period when Zach Cohen, one of the most recent additions to the team, scored his first goal in a Missouri sweater just 2:50 into the frame. Wes Cunningham and Chris Owens were credited with the assists. Then defenseman Matt Finn tied the game up 3-3 with the help of Rocco Carzo and Tyler Barnes at 6:56.

Only 11 seconds later, rookie forward Tanner Fritz scored an unassisted goal to boost the Mavs up to a 4-3 lead over the visiting IceMen.

Evansville had the answer to Fritz's goal five minutes later when Andrew Himelson tied the game up once again before the end of the second period.

The IceMen stepped ahead with their second power-play goal of the night, 5:09 into the final frame, and the Mavericks followed suit with their second power-play tally at 10:32. Rocco Carzo made the game-tying goal, aided by Jesse Root and Jesse Graham.

The final minutes of regulation ticked off the clock without a winner, and the game decision was sent to overtime, tied at 5-5.

Tanner Fritz locked-in the 6-5 win for the Mavericks with his second goal of the evening just 42 seconds into the extra period, assisted by Jesse Root and Jesse Graham.
