Jones Scores Game-Winning Goal as Bridgeport Wins Fourth Straight

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers (12-5-0-0), proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, sealed their fourth straight victory on Friday when Connor Jones scored the overtime winner in a 3-2 decision against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (12-4-2-0) at Webster Bank Arena.

Ross Johnston and Steve Bernier also tallied goals for the Sound Tigers, helping Bridgeport improve to 5-0 when going beyond regulation this season. Between the pipes, Eamon McAdam made 33 saves to remain perfect this season, earning his fourth straight win in as many starts (4-0-0-0)

In addition, Devon Toews produced two points (two assists) as the Sound Tigers moved to 1-2-0-0 against the Penguins this season and held station in third place in the Atlantic Division standings (24 points).

The Sound Tigers opened the scoring exactly one minute into the game when Bernier recorded his seventh tally of the season. Toews created the attack, skating ahead with the puck and to the left circle. There, the rookie defenseman passed it across to Bernier who delivered high on goaltender Casey DeSmith for his third goal in the last two games.

The Penguins evened the score nearly midway through the middle frame with Jarrett Burton's first goal of the season. Dominik Simon controlled the puck on the right side of the offensive zone and slid the puck diagonally to Burton in the left circle, where he hammered a shot;
