Jones, Laczynski Selected in 2016 NHL Draft

Lincoln, Neb. - Ryan Jones and Tanner Laczynski were selected in the 2016 NHL Draft in Buffalo, NY on Saturday.

Ryan Jones opened the day for the Stars, going in the fourth round (121st overall) to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Crown Point, Illinois native is set to attend the University of Nebraska Omaha next season.

Jones posted 43 points in 120 games with the Stars. The 6'1" 186 pound defenseman did not miss a single game in his USHL career.

Tanner Laczynski was selected in the sixth round (169th overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers. Through two USHL seasons, the 6'0" 190 pound center had 109 points in 111 games.

Laczynski had 23 points in 19 games with the Stars. The Shorewood, Illinois native is set to attend the Ohio State University in the fall.
