JOHNSTOWN - The Johnstown Tomahawks mounted a furious comeback in the third period with five unanswered goals to defeat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights Saturday night at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

The Knights would crack the scoreless tie midway through the first period when Paul Maust capitalized on a Tomahawks turnover for his fourth goal of the season. The marker came unassisted.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton would stifle the Tomahawks attack as chances were at a premium against Knights goalie Grant Valentine.

Adrian Danchenko gave the Knights a 2-0 lead with a power play goal. Keenan Sabatini and Michael Morrissey assisted on Danchenko's fourth.

Going into the third period, the Tomahawks faces a two-goal deficit. However, the deficit turned into a surplus as the Tomahawks began the later heroics.

Donovan Ott started the comeback with a his 13th goal of the season.

His wrister was assisted by Filips Buncis and Dalton Hunter.

The game was tied just over four minutes later when Dalton Hunter buried a one-timer from Ott for his 12th goal of the season. Nick Bruce registered the secondary assist.

Just 30 seconds later, Hayden Rowan's innocent-looking wrist shot beat Valentine on the glove side to give Johnstown it's first lead of the evening. The goal came unassisted.

Newcomer Logan Stork made the Tomahawks advantage 4-2 with a goal late in the third period. Rowan and Mitch Halle collected helpers on his sixth on the campaign.

With the goalie pulled, the Tomahawks salted the game with a Hunter empty-net goal, thus completing the comeback.

In the third period, the Tomahawks sent a team-record 28 shots on goal for a game total of 48. Valentine stopped 41 shots in his tenth loss of the season.

Tomahawks goalie Drew Hotte picked up his sixth victory by halting 33 of 35 Knights shots.
