Johnstown Tomahawks: Tomahawks Announce Trade with Northeast

October 19, 2016 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Johnstown Tomahawks News Release

JOHNSTOWN - The Johnstown Tomahawks announced today that the team has traded forward Cameron Smith to the Northeast Generals in exchange for a tender and a 5 th round draft pick in the 2017 NAHL Draft.

Smith, a native of Arlington, Va., tallied two goals and two assists in six games with the Tomahawks this season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team.

Johnstown continues its road trip with two games against the Generals starting Thursday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. The Tomahawks return to the Cambria County War Memorial Arena for their home opener on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. against the Aston Rebels.

November 11 is Military Appreciation Night where the Tomahawks will honor those who have served with free tickets for military veterans and active duty personnel. Additionally, the Tomahawks will wear specialty military-style jerseys.

Individual tickets are now available for the 2016-17 season. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the War Memorial box office, call 1-800-745-3000 or order online at Ticketmaster.com.
